Skin Peels

Skin Peels

The skin may become thickened and dull due to a build-up of dead skin cells which can also cause congestion blocked pores and acne.

Salicylic acid and Glycolic Chemical skin peels are used to remove superficial layers of skin as a method of resurfacing and regenerating the client’s skin. Superficial chemical peels are a good option for many people as they have a gentler effect and do not give visible skin peeling inflammation or significant redness. As a result there is no need for pain relief and little or no ‘down’ or recovery time.

They can be used on all skin types and colours to treat ageing skin, fine lines and wrinkles as well as to treat acne, scarring and sun damage or hyper pigmentation.

The treatment involves cleansing and toning the skin prior to application of the peel with a gentle brush. The peel will be left on for between 3 and 5 minutes during which time some clients may experience a mild tingling or burning experience. After the procedure a cool compress will be applied followed by an antioxidant and a sun screen.

The  skin peel causes exfoliation which allows dead skin cells and excess oils to be removed more effectively.  It will also improve rough skin texture by increasing the amount of collagen in the upper layer of the skin and leads to new skin growth which is usually smoother healthier and less wrinkled than the old skin.

All clients will get a complimentary initial consultation appointment and an individual treatment plan/prescription.

The client will return for the treatment of choice (allowing for an individual prescription and time for reflection and further discussion if needed).

All treatments are carried out by Carole and are followed up with a review appointment to ensure the optimum results and client satisfaction.
